General description

This water purification kit includes the following:
  • IPAK Gard® 3-5 Pretreatment Pack efficiently removes colloids, particles and free chlorine from tap water to protect the reverse osmosis (RO) membrane and improve system performance.
  • IPAK Quanta® polishing cartridge contains innovative IQnano™ ion-exchange media which achieves ion removal down to trace levels. In addition, high-grade synthetic activated carbon targets trace organic contaminants.
  • The Tank Vent Filter, redesigned for seamless integration, provides improved protection against airborne contaminants.
  • This kit is designed for use with Milli-Q® IQ 7003-5 systems for the production of pure (Type 2) and ultrapure (Type 1) water.

Application

For optimal protection of the RO membrane, trace ion and organics removal, and advanced protection against airborne contaminants.

Features and Benefits

IPAK Gard® 3-5 Pretreatment Pack contains:
  • Activated carbon to protect against free chlorine.
  • Depth filter to protect against particulates and colloids.

Tank Vent Filter contains:
  • Activated carbon to remove volatile organics.
  • Soda lime to remove CO2.
  • Membrane filter to prevent particulates and bacteria from entering the tank.

IPAK Quanta® cartridge contains:
  • Innovative IQnano™ ion-exchange media to remove ions down to trace levels.
  • High-grade synthetic activated carbon targets trace organic contaminants.

In addition, 63% of the parts suppliers for the IPAK Gard® cartridge and 78% of the parts suppliers for IPAK Quanta® cartridge included in this kit are ISO 14001 environmental management system-certified.

  1. What are the storage conditions for this product?

    1. Recommended storage conditions: temperatures from 5 to 30°C; humidity between 10 and 80%. The original sealed bag (if provided) must be kept intact before the first use to protect the purification element from foreign matter.

  2. How are consumables changed?

For high-flow systems, please keep in mind that all consumable changes must be approved by a 3-digit code that only the person in charge of the system knows.

  5. Can I arrange to have my consumables automatically ordered and delivered once a year?

    1. It's possible to place only one consumable order per year with a specific contract called "Consumable Supply Agreement (CSA)" (https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/US/en/products/water-purification/milli-q-consumables#csa).   6. If I have a final filter that I use only occasionally (e.g., Biopak®) and have another filter (e.g. Millipak®) that I most of the time, can I keep the 'occasional-use' filter for use again at a later time?

    1. It is not possible to re-use a filter that has been used and then removed because air intake during replacement creates an airlock and blocks water passing through the filter. If you regularly need two different filters, we recommend using two POD dispensers.

  8. How frequently do the various consumables need to be changed?

    1. The frequency that consumables must be changed depends on the system's usage (treated water volume) and on the consumables themselves (time of usage). In order to ensure the quality of water and your results, the consumables should be replaced when the system alerts you.

  9. Can consumables be opened and refilled?

    1. Unfortunately, this is not possible because of safety issues and the need to guarantee the quality of consumables and their interior purification components. Our consumables are manufactured in an ISO 9001-certified facility France in agreement with high quality standards.
