General description
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar + LT - ICR settle plate is a selective media for the determination of the total count of yeasts and molds. Settle plates are used for active or passive air monitoring as well for fingerprints of personnel. Sabouraud Dextrose Medium contains digests of animal tissues (peptones) which provide a nutritious source of amino acids and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose is added as the energy and carbon source and low pH favours fungal growth. In addition, Lecithin and polysorbate 80 (Tween®) are neutralizers to inactivate residues of disinfectants.
Application
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a selective medium for cultivation and isolation of yeasts and molds. The media is used for environmental monitoring by determining the yeast and mold count in air by active or passive air monitoring as well as fingerprints of personnel.
