3,5-Dichloro-2-hydroxybenzenesulfonyl chloride was used in the synthesis of (1R,2R)-(+)-1,2-(3,3′,5,5′-tetrachloro-2,2′-dihydroxydibenzenesulfonamido)-1,2-diphenylethane[1] and (1R,2R)-(+)- 1,2-(3,3′,5,5′-tetrachloro-2,2′-dihydroxydibenzenesulfonamido)cyclohexane[1]. It was used as chromogenic system in one-step kinetic method for the determination of 5′-nucleotidase[2].
