Application

4-Methylumbelliferyl β-D-mannopyranoside has been used as a fluorogenic substrate for β -mannosidase in the enzyme assay of mice tissue extracts,[1] in cell-free translation[2] and midgut of Lutzomyia longipalpis.[3]

Biochem/physiol Actions

4-Methylumbelliferyl β-D-mannopyranoside is a fluorescent ligand for concanavalin A and interacts with its carbohydrate binding region. It is also a fluorogenic substrate for β-mannosidase.[4]
