Application
Alginate, a colloidal polyuronic acid structural molecule capable of gelation, is used in the preparation of colloidal biodegradable structures such as gels, biofilms, beads, nanoparticles, and microcapsules suitable for applications that range from gel based separation technologies to drug delivery and cell preservation.
Other Notes
A straight-chain, hydrophilic, colloidal, polyuronic acid composed of guluronic and mannuronic acid residues.
Immobilization of cells[1][2]; or enzymes[3]; the alginate matrix can be liquefied by the addition of a chelating agent, making possible the recovery of developing colonies without affecting their continued growth[4].

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.
