General description

AOZ, also known as 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone, is a metabolite of the synthetic nitrofuran veterinary antibiotic ― furazolidone.

Application

The analytical standard can be used as follows:
  • Development of an electrochemical impedimetric immunosensor based on immobilization of a monoclonal antibody on a gold electrode, to determine AOZ in six food samples
  • Multi-residue analysis of four nitrofuran metabolites residues in 120 fish samples by ultra high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) combined with tandem mass spectrometry
  • Detection and measurement of AOZ in tissue samples obtained from four animals by immunochromatography test stripes based on colloidal gold-monoclonal antibody
  • LC-MS/MS analysis of nitrofuran and nitroimidazole metabolite residues in honey samples after their extraction by a modified QuEChERS-based method
  • Screening of nitrofuran metabolite residues from shrimp muscle samples by an HPLC method combined with diode array detection

LC-MS/MS method for confirmation of nitrofuran metabolites in meat and aquaculture products, including the nifursol metabolite (DNSH), was developed. The nitrofuran metabolites investigated were as follows: 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone (AOZ), 3-amino-5-morpholinomethyl-2-oxazolidinone (AMOZ), 1-aminohydantoine (AHD), semicarbazide (SEM) and 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid hydrazide (DNSH).
