Application

Paraffin can be used as a solvent:
  • To synthesize 2,6-diaminopyridines via sodium amide initiated heterogeneous Chichibabin amination of substituted pyridines.
  • In the precipitation polymerisation of styrene and divinylbenzene to prepare acidic ion exchange resin.
  • For the amination of fatty alcohols with fatty primary amines to produce corresponding secondary amines.
