Application

Chromium(III) chloride hexahydrate can be used as a:
  • Source of Cr(II) in the Takai reaction.
  • Component of the deep eutectic solvent applicable as a catalyst in the esterification of carboxylic acids with alcohols.
  • Precursor to prepare metal-oxide-doped amorphous titanium oxides, which are used as catalysts in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene.
