General description

Anti-Cyclin A Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Cyclin A protein.
CCNA1 (cyclin A1) is a member of the highly conserved cyclin family. There are two A-type cyclins, namely cyclin A1 and cyclin A2. Cyclin A1 is expressed at high levels in testis and expressed at low levels in most other tissues. This gene is mapped to human chromosome 13q13.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Cyclin A.

Immunogen Range: 221-270

Application

Anti-Cyclin A antibody has been used in western blotting.
Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Western Blotting (1 paper)

Biochem/physiol Actions

CCNA1 (cyclin A1) controls cell apoptosis. Cyclin A2 is required for DNA replication and proliferation in somatic cells. CCNA1 plays an important role in head and neck carcinoma and cervical and nasopharyngeal cancers.
