General description
Corticosterone is a steroid hormone produced mainly in the cortex of adrenal glands. It also known as the stress hormone and has a crucial role in enhancing and suppressing synaptic plasticity and memory processes.Rabbit anti-corticosterone antibody reacts specifically with corticosterone.
Immunogen
Corticosterone-21-Thyroglobulin
Application
Anti-corticosterone antibody can be used to measure total CORT level in serum using radioimmunoassay.
Physical form
The product is provided as a pre-diluted antiserum that has been lyophilized. Each vial contains no more than 20 mg Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP).
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 5 mL buffer: 0.05 M Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 0.1 M sodium chloride, 0.1% bovine serum albumin, and 0.1% sodium azide. Store this stock at −20 °C. Working dilution (1:10) to be discarded if unused within 12 hours.

The stress hormone corticosterone has the ability both to enhance and suppress synaptic plasticity and learning and memory processes. However, until today there is very little known about the molecular mechanism that underlies the bidirectional effects of stress and corticosteroid

Life-history traits such as offspring size, number and sex ratio are affected by maternal feeding rates in many kinds of animals, but the consequences of variation in maternal diet quality (rather than quantity) are poorly understood. We manipulated dietary quality

Life-history theory predicts that costs are associated with reproduction. One possible mediator of costs involves the secretion of glucocorticoid hormones, which in birds can be measured in feathers grown during the breeding period. Glucocorticoids mediate physiological responses to unpredictable environmental

Furosemide is a loop diuretic widely used in clinical practice for the treatment of oedema and hypertension. The aim of this study was to determine physiological and molecular changes in the hypothalamic-neurohypophysial system as a consequence of furosemide-induced sodium depletion.

Several studies on birds have proposed that a lack of invertebrate prey in urbanized areas could be the main cause for generally lower levels of breeding success compared to rural habitats. Previous work on house sparrows Passer domesticus found that
