Application

Hydrazin hydrate (80% solution in water) can be used as a reducing agent for the reduction of exfoliated graphene oxide (GO), which is used for the preparation of GO nanocomposites.[1] It is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of 3-amino-2-thiohydantoins by reacting with alkyl isothiocynatocarboxylates.[2]

  1. It is 80% of hydrazine hydroxide in water (about 52% of hydrazine in water) or 80% of hydrazine in water. There is no MW on page. I thought that is less than 1 molecule of water to 1 molecule of hydrazine (sth like hydrazine half-hydrate).

    1. It is the former. Product 8.04604 is approximately 80 percent hydrazine hydrate by weight, which corresponds to 51.2 percent hydrazine by weight. Based on a density of 1.02 g/mL for this solution, which is 51.2 percent hydrazine, and a molecular weight of 32.05 for hydrazine (N2H4), the molarity of this solution is approximately 16 M.
