General description

Ready-to-use coated packing for those wanting to pack their own columns.
The choice of coating material is based on the stationary phase of the GC.[1] Carbowax 1500 is a very effective surface modifier for graphitized carbon black (GCB) adsorbents like Carbopack C.[2]

Application

Gas chromatographic column packed with carbowax 1500 on Carbopack C was used for the analysis of methanol, ethanol, acetone and isopropanol in urine and blood samples.[3]

  4. What does the 60/80 stand for in the product description?

    1. The 60/80 refers to the mesh size range of the actual particles.  When working with mesh size: the larger the mesh number, the smaller the diameter of the particle.  In this case 60 refers to a diameter of 250 microns and 80 refers to a diameter of 177 microns.  Therefore; the particles in this product with 60/80 will range between 177 microns and 250 microns.
