General description

Economical, flexible PTFE tubing is ideal for use at pressures up to 500 psi (35 kg/cm2). Use in automatic analyzer, postcolumn reaction, preparative scale systems, in-stream sampling devices, and when monitoring physiologically important compounds.

The maximum recommended operating temperature for PTFE is 200 °C, but short term exposure to higher temperatures seldom causes damage.

Application

  • Naked-eye sensitive detection of nanoPET by pH-responsive colorimetric method based on dual-enzyme catalysis: This study employs Bromocresol Purple for the sensitive detection of pollutants, utilizing its pH-responsive colorimetric properties in a novel environmental monitoring approach, which is crucial for detecting nano-pollutants in environmental samples (Zhan et al., 2024).

  • Noninvasive Colorimetric Detection of Acetic Acid in Human Breath Based on an Alginate/Ni-Al-LDH/Dye Composite Film: Integrates Bromocresol Purple in a bio-composite for non-invasive detection of acetic acid, showcasing its potential in medical diagnostics and monitoring of metabolic disorders (Zakaria et al., 2023).

  • Fish Freshness Indicator for Sensing Fish Quality during Storage: Uses Bromocresol Purple as a colorimetric indicator to assess fish freshness, offering a valuable tool for ensuring food safety and quality in the seafood industry (Kim et al., 2023).

  • An Adapted Protocol for Quantitative Rhizosphere Acidification Assay: Highlights the application of Bromocresol Purple in ecological research, particularly in studying soil health and plant interactions, which is vital for agricultural sciences (Omer et al., 2023).

  • Halochromic Textiles for Real-Time Sensing of Hazardous Chemicals and Personal Protection: Demonstrates the use of Bromocresol Purple in developing halochromic textiles, which change color in response to chemical exposures, crucial for safety in hazardous environments (Leite et al., 2023).
