General description

Anti-CD40 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CD40 protein.
Cluster of differentiation 40 (CD40) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein. It has a molecular weight of 40 ~ 50kDa and made of 277 amino acids. The CD40 gene is mapped to human chromosome 20q11-13. It has eight introns and nine exons.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CD40.

Immunogen Range: 228-277

Application

Anti-CD40, C-Terminal antibody has been used in western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cluster of differentiation 40 (CD40) plays a major role in cellular and humoral immunity. It initiates inflammatory response to induce the progression of atherosclerosis. The CD40 pathway participates in the growth and pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Oxysterol sulfation plays a fundamental role in the regulation of many biological events. Its products, 25-hydroxycholesterol 3-sulfate (25HC3S) and 25-hydroxycholesterol 3, 25-disulfate (25HCDS), have been demonstrated to be potent regulators of lipid metabolism, inflammatory response, cell apoptosis, and cell survival.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
