General description
GS21 Supplement is a serum-free neural media supplement designed to improve the overall perfomance of the primary neurons. GS21 is specifically optimized for the propagation and long-term viability of primary rat and mouse neurons in culture, without the need for co-culture with astrocyte feeder cells.
Application
Primary rat and mouse neuronal cell culture.
Features and Benefits
- Significantly improves long-term viability of rat and mouse primary neurons in vitro.
- Enhances neurite outgrowth of primary neurons in culture.
- Supports growth and maintenance of primary neurons at low or high cell density plating.
Preparation Note
Product Dilution:
1. GS21 Supplement is supplied as a 50X concentrate. Dilute 2mL in 100mL of your neuronal basal media.
2. For primary cortical neuron cultures, supplement with 0.5 mM dipeptide glutamine before use.
3. Once combined with media, store at 2 °C to 8 °C in the dark for up to 4 weeks.

In vitro culturing of primary neurons is a mainstay of neurobiological research. Many of these culture paradigms have taken advantage of defined culture media rather than serum additives that contain undefined survival factors to facilitate experimental manipulations and interpretation of
