Questions

1–6 of 6 Questions
  1. Hi, For E8029 endotoxin quantification product, 1. Is it a powder or liquid? 2. Solubility in water if it's a powder? How much water is needed to prepare a solution? Thanks,

    1 answer
    1. This product is a lyophilized powder typically used as a standard in the E-Toxate Endotoxin kits. See the link below to review these kits. For use with these kits, the material is reconstituted in endotoxin-free water at 4000UE/mL. Each vial contains a range of 10,000 - 20,000 units which is reported in the lot specific Certificate of Analysis. The mass weight is not determined. However, the amount of powder may be estimated based on the conversion factor of 5 EU per nanogram.

  5. How much water should I use to reconstitute my E-Toxate™ Endotoxin standard, Product E8029?

    1 answer
    1. Each batch of endotoxin standard varies slightly in its activity so the amount of water to use may vary from lot to lot.  The certificate of analysis will give the amount of endotoxin units in the vial, so that the end user may calculate the appropriate amount of water to add to the vial in order to reconsitute to a final concentration of 4000 EU/mL.  The certificate of analysis for each lot may be retrieved from our website.

  6. What is the E-Toxate™ Endotoxin standard, Product E8029?

    1 answer
    1. The endotoxin standard is purified from a crude extract of lipopolysaccharide from E. coli 055:B5 and standardized against the current USP reference standard.  It is reconstituted with an appropriate amount of water to yield a 4000 EU/mL solution.
