General description
Chloroethane is a haloalkane used as an intermediate or as a solvent in organic synthesis. It has major applications in the production of tetraethyl lead, ethyl-cellulose, and an antiknock additive for gasoline. It is also used in cleaning and degreasing applications.
Application
Chloroethane can be used to prepare:
- pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidinone derivatives
- 2H-perovskite compound [Me3NCH2CH3]CdCl3
- benzo[cd]indol-2(1H)-ones derivatives as potent BRD4 inhibitors
