General description

Orientin is a flavone existing in a variety of plants and exhibits a broad-spectrum of pharmacological properties such as free-radical inhibition, antiviral, radioprotection, anti-oxidant and vasorelaxant property.[1]

Application

Orientin may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in leaves of Cecropia species[2] and biological samples[1] using various chromatography techniques.
