General description

N-Nitrosoanatabine or NAT is a potent carcinogen and biomarker of exposure to cigarette smoke. It′s found in a variety of tobacco products such as cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, nicotine gum and oral snuff. This certified Snap-N-Spike® solution is suitable for use in LC-MS/MS or GC/MS methods for nicotine testing, environmental monitoring, or clinical and diagnostic testing of nicotine biomarkers.

Application

  • (S)-N-Nitrosoanatabine solution in Cytochrome P450 Inhibition Studies: Utilizing (S)-N-Nitrosoanatabine solution, researchers have elucidated its role in the inhibition of the cytochrome P450 2A13 enzyme, critical for understanding nicotine metabolism pathways and developing strategies to mitigate tobacco-related cancers. This study highlights the solution′s utility in biochemical research and pharmacological studies, serving as a critical analytical standard for assessing the metabolic pathways of tobacco alkaloid derivatives (Liu et al., 2016).
