General description

Microcystin-LR belongs to the group of cyclic heptapeptide metabolites called microcystins, produced by cyanobacterium (blue-green algae) Microcystis aeruginosa, and others.

Application

The analytical standard can also be used as follows:

  • Development of a paper immunosensor based on nanobiochar particles (nBC) and anti-microcystin-LR monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) for the identification of microcystin-LR in environmental water samples
  • Determination of microcystin-LR in tap water samples using a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (LFICA) procedure based on molecularly imprinted polymers and enzyme-assisted color change approach
  • Fluorescence-based detection of microcystin-LR in tap water and serum samples by an aptasensor, constructed using single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and dapoxyl fluorescent dye
  • Analysis of surface water samples for the detection of microcystin-LR using ultra high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography-variable wavelength-Ultraviolet Detector (HPLC-VW-UVD) methods
  • Determination of microcystin-LR in surface water samples using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry with electrospray ionization source (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS).
