Galactose contains d-galactopyranose (C6H12O6), which is obtained either as one of the products of the metabolism of lactose, a naturally occurring sugar in dairy products, by the digestive enzyme lactase, or from arabinogalactans isolated from a plant-derived source.

Application

Galactose USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:
  • Guar Gum
  • Lactulose Concentrate
  • Lactulose Solution
  • Ganoderma Lucidum Fruiting Body Powder
  • Ganoderma Lucidum Fruiting Body
