Application

Buffering agent in incubation mixtures. It has also been used as a component of lysis and TE (Tris-EDTA) buffer.

Features and Benefits

Quality

Purity: >99% Tris-HCl (titrimetric)
Heavy metals: <1 ppm Pb and Fe

Other Notes

The pH values of all buffers are temperature and concentration dependent. For Tris buffers, pH increases about 0.03 unit per °C decrease in temperature, and decreases 0.03-0.05 unit per ten-fold dilution. For precise applications, use a carefully calibrated pH meter with a glass/calomel combination electrode.

16S rRNA gene sequencing enables microbial community profiling, but recovering fecal DNA from extremely premature infants is challenging. Here, we describe an optimized protocol for fecal DNA isolation, library preparation for 16S rRNA gene sequencing, taxonomy assignation, and statistical analyses.
