Application

Jasmonic acid (JA) is a plant hormone derived from linolenic acid. Jasmonic acid is involved in plant cell signaling responses to abiotic and biotic stress. JA is involved in the regulation of processes that include growth inhibition, senescence, flower development, leaf abscission and tendril coiling. JA is also involved in wound healing of plants and systemic acquired resistance to attack by insects.

Polyploidy is a prominent feature for genome evolution in many animals and all flowering plants. Plant polyploids often show enhanced fitness in diverse and extreme environments, but the molecular basis for this remains elusive. Soil salinity presents challenges for many

Plants possess a family of potent fatty acid-derived wound-response and developmental regulators: the jasmonates. These compounds are derived from the tri-unsaturated fatty acids alpha-linolenic acid (18:3) and, in plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana and tomato, 7(Z)-, 10(Z)-, and 13(Z)-hexadecatrienoic acid
