General description

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is an important component of the mucosal layer of the colon. 16:0-14:0 PC (PMPC/1-palmitoyl-2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) is the positional isomer of 1-myristoyl-2-palmitoyl-PC (MPPC).

Application

16:0-14:0 PC (1-palmitoyl-2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) may be used as an inhibitor for screening several recombinant human UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs).

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) functions as a surfactant within the mucus to form a hydrophobic surface to inhibit bacterial penetrance.

Bilayers formed by phospholipids are frequently used as model biological membranes in various life science studies. A characteristic feature of phospholipid bilayers is to undergo a structural change called a phase transition in response to environmental changes of their surroundings.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
