General description

ETS translocation variant 1 (ETV1) is transcriptional activator and is expressed in two isoforms. It has a winged helix-turn-helix ETS DNA binding motif. ETV1 is mapped to human chromosome 7p21.2.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

ETS translocation variant 1 (ETV1) plays a key role in signalling and development. Phosphorylation of ETV1 bymitogen- and stress-activated protein kinase 1 (MSK1) activates transcriptional regulation. ETV1 promotes tumor progression by triggering ETS transcription factors and is highly expressed gastrointestinal stromal tumours.
