Is this a mixture from trisodium citrate and citric acid? I have looked through the SDS and the mixture of the chemical is <0.025% of 5-Chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and another chemical. I can't seem to find how they would make up a citrate buffer
1 answer-
The specific formulation is considered proprietary, however, the final citrate concentration is 0.1M. The SDS lists only the potentially hazardous ingredients. The 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1) listed is essentially ProClin which acts as a preservative. Is this Citrate buffer already included Tween 20?
1 answer-
The composition of this buffer is considered proprietary. However, citrate solutions commonly used for antigen retrieval do not contain detergents. This product does contain a preservative which may contribute to the color of the solution. This does not effect the performance of the product in any way. Please see the link below to reivew a general antigen retrival protocol using Citrate Buffer. Note that Tween 20 is used in the wash solution following treatment with Citrate Buffer.
