General description

Potassium Iodide is well-known for being the first drug in the successful treatment of human sporotrichosis. Today it is widely used for the treatment of various kinds of skin inflammation disorders such as erythema nodosum, subacute nodular migratory panniculitis, nodular vasculitis, erythema multiforme, and Sweet′s syndrome. On account of its low cost, it continues to be used for cutaneous and lymphocutaneous diseases. It is also a part of the electrolyte of dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC).
Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.

Application

These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.

Bentonite, which is used as an engineered barrier in geological repositories, is ineffective for sorbing anionic radionuclides because of its negatively charged surface. This study modified raw bentonite using a cationic surfactant (i.e., hexadecyltrimethylammonium [HDTMA]-Br) to improve its sorption capability
