General description

Vinyl neodecanoate, mixture of isomers is a vinyl monomer with reactive vinyl group which imparts thermal stability. Its mixture of isomers gives it a range of properties, making it flexible and stable under heat. The compound dissolves well in organic solvents, which makes it useful for coatings and drug delivery systems.

Application

Vinyl neodecanoate, mixture of isomers can be used:
  • As a monomer to synthesize self-healing, super stretchable , self-adhesive homopolymers. This can be used as a matrix to fabricate semiconductive adhesives in electronic circuits and semiconducting tapes.
  • As a precursor to prepare poly (vinyl acetate-co-butyl acrylate-co-neodecanoate) terpolymer matrix which acts as reaction medium and as stabilizing agent for silver nanoparticles. This can be used as antifouling coating for operation theater surfaces, medical devices.
  • As a monomer to synthesize plasticizer free wood adhesive by copolymerization. It helps to enhance the water resistance of the adhesive.
