Gene Information

human ... TET2(54790)

General description

Tet methylcytosine dioxygenase 2 (TET2) is part of the Fe(II)/α-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase family of enzymes. It is expressed in the brain. The gene encoding TET2 is localized on human chromosome 4q24.

Immunogen

Antibody was raised against an 18 amino acid peptide near the amino terminus of human TET2.

Application

Anti-TET2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in Western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Tet methylcytosine dioxygenase 2 (TET2) is involved in the conversion of 5-methylcytosine to 5-hydroxymethyl-cytosine (5hmC). It also has a role in stimulating DNA demethylation and lymphomagenesis. Mutations in the gene encoding TET2 have been linked to myelodysplastic syndromes.

Features and Benefits

Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.

Linkage

The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3500711.

5-Azacytidine (5-AZA), a DNA methyl transferase inhibitor, is a clinically used epigenetic drug for cancer therapy. Recently, we have shown that 5-AZA upregulates ten-eleven translocation (TET) protein expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells, which induce active demethylation. Vitamin C facilitates
