Gene Information

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal extracellular domain of human frizzled-10, conjugated to KLH. The immunizing peptide has 100% homology with the mouse gene.

Application

Anti-Frizzled-10 antibody is suitable for immunohistochemistry study (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections) at a concentration of 3μg/mL using human kidney, cortex.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Frizzled homolog protein (FZD) is a seven-pass transmembrane type receptor expressed in various normal tissues such as skeletal muscle, kidney, pancreas, cerebellum and cerebral cortex. In humans, ten members (FZD1-FZD10) of Frizzled homolog protein have been identified. FZD10, a cell-surface receptor molecules in the Wnt pathway, is expressed during development in embryonic limbs, neural tube, and central nervous system and mediates Wnt signaling. It was reported that FZD10 plays a critical role in the metastasis of synovial sarcoma. Mechanistically, it facilitates the activation of Dvl-Rac1-JNK axis of planar cell polarity (PCP) signaling, with no effect on nuclear β-catenin accumulation and Tcf/Lef reporter activity.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.7, containing 0.01% sodium azide.

Genome-wide expression profiling revealed overexpression of the gene encoding frizzled homologue 10 (FZD 10), a cell-surface receptor for molecules in the Wnt pathway, as a potential contributor to synovial sarcomas (SS). Northern blotting and immunohistochemical staining confirmed that expression levels

The evolutionarily conserved and developmentally important Wnt signaling pathway has traditionally been regarded as a critical player in tumorigenesis through the canonical Wnt/beta-catenin cascade. Nevertheless, accumulating evidence based on recent research has revealed the previously unacknowledged role of noncanonical Wnt/planar

Frizzled (FZD) genes encode seven-transmembrane type WNT receptors, which are implicated in carcinogenesis and embryogenesis. We have previously cloned and characterized FZD1, FZD2, FZD3, FZD4, FZD5, FZD6, FZD7, FZD8, and FZD10. Here, we investigated expression profiles of all members of
