Cell Line Origin

Human transitional cell carcinoma lymphatic metastasis

Cell Line Description

UM-UC-13 was produced from a lymphatic metastasis from a transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. UM-UC-13 produced tumours in female athymic nude mice after 36 days. Susceptibility to adenoviral mediated gene transduction and expression of p53, p16, retinoblastoma protein and coxsackie adenovirus receptor were studied.

Culture Medium

EMEM (EBSS) + 2 mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6, i.e., seeding at 1-2x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37 °C.
