General description
Recombinant, human transforming growth factor-α expressed in E. coli. Plays an important role in cell-cell adhesion and cell growth and differentiation. Reported to play a role in the development of hormonal insensitivity in estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancers.

ED₅₀= 0.1-0.4 ng/ml as measured by the ability to stimulate ³H-thymidine incorporation in the mouse fibroblast cell line Balb/3T3

Physical form
Lyophilized from 30% acetonitrile, 0.1% TFA.
Reconstitution
Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-70°C) for long-term storage or refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions. Stock solutions are stable for up to 1 month at 4°C or for up to 3 months at -70°C.
Reconstitute to a concentration of ≥10 µg/ml with sterile 10 mM acetic acid containing ≥0.1% HSA or BSA.
