生化/生理作用
RABEP1 (Rabaptin, RAB GTPase binding effector protein 1) is a Rab effector protein. During membrane docking and fusion, its C-terminal domain form a dyad-symmetric Rab5-Rabaptin5(2)-Rab5 ternary complex by binding to their switch and interswitch regions. Any mutation in Rab5-Rabaptin5(2)-Rab5 binding causes enlarged endosomes. RABEP1 also participates in K(V)10.1 potassium channel trafficking on the cell surface. It has been reported that silencing of RABEP1 shows induced down-regulation of recycling of K(V)10.1 channel.
