Uridine 5′-diphosphate (UDP) and Uridine 5′-triphosphate (UTP) may be used in studies on nucleic acid (RNA) biosynthesis and cell signaling. UDP is a nucleotide that upon phosphorylation to UTP becomes a substrate for enzymes such as RNA polymerase(s) and GTPases. These enzymes are involved in a wide range of applications from the synthesis of RNA to the regulation of G-coupled Protein Receptors (GPCR) and cell signaling molecules such as Rho-signaling via Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factors (GEF).

The Rho family small GTPases of the Ras superfamily play key roles in regulating diverse signaling pathways that control a myriad of fundamental cellular processes such as cytoskeletal dynamics, cell cycle progression, gene expression, cell polarity, migration and cell transformation.

There is a lack of potent, selective antagonists at most subtypes of P2Y receptor. The aims of this study were to characterise the pharmacological properties of the proposed P2Y2 receptor antagonist, AR-C118925XX, and then to use it to determine the

Dopamine (DA) is a well-studied neurochemical in the mammalian carotid body (CB), a chemosensory organ involved in O2 and CO2/H+ homeostasis. DA released from receptor (type I) cells during chemostimulation is predominantly inhibitory, acting via pre- and post-synaptic dopamine D2
Besides regulation of actin cytoskeleton-dependent functions, Rho GTPase pathways are essential to cell cycle progression and cell division. Rho, Rac and Cdc42 regulate G1 to S phase progression and are involved in cytokinesis. RhoA GDP/GTP cycling is required for normal
Rhinovirus, a major causative agent of the common cold, is associated with exacerbation of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Currently, there is no antiviral treatment or vaccine for human rhinovirus (HRV). Gemcitabine (2',2'-difluorodeoxycytidine, dFdC) is a deoxycytidine analog with
