General description

Aclonifen is a diphenyl-ether herbicide, which can be used for weed control management, in specific for sunflowers.[1] Its mode of action involves, the inhibition of carotenoid synthesis and suppression of protoporphyrinogen oxidase enzyme involved in the chlorophyll synthesis pathway.[1]
