Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. This product was discontinued. The website lists 1.11955 Hemacolor® Rapid staining of blood smear as a similar product. Need a replacement for 65044A. Are these products equivalent?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, product 111955 is equivalent to the discontinued Hemacolor reagent 65044A. However, there are slight differences between the products. In the Harleco products, the two stain solutions are buffered, whereas in product 111955, the two stain solutions do not appear to be buffered. After dipping the slides in the two stain solutions, the slides must then be dipped in a buffer solution. This adds only slightly more time to the procedure, but it does require one additional reagent.

      While 65044A was listed as a 4-liter container, 1119552500 is only a 2.5-liter container.

  2. is the fixative (catalog# 65044A) solution in Wright stain set 100% methanol?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, this product is essentially 100 % Methanol. There may be trace amounts of water, however, this is not quantitated and does not effect performance.
