Axin-1 is constitutively expressed and acts as a negative regulator of Wnt expression. It has been demonstrated that mouse Wnt, Wnt3a, is secreted by multiple cell lines and can act and as a growth factor for stem cells. Secreted Wnt3a is highly hydrophobic because it is palmitoylated on an essential cysteine C77; the palmitoylated state of Wnt3a is essential for stem cell signaling. Incubation of stem cells with Wnt3a in tissue culture medium resulted in the increased number of mouse hematopoietic stem cells expressing "primitive" phenotype.
Specificity
This antibody recognizes the N-terminus of Axin-1.
Immunogen
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to the N-terminus of mouse Axin-1.
Application
Detect Axin-1 using this Anti-Axin-1 Antibody, clone A5 validated for use in WB, IP & IC.

Our previous studies indicate that abnormal expression of several Wnt signaling molecules including Axin, Dvl and β-catenin are involved in proliferation, invasion and metastasis of lung cancer. Zbed3 was found to inhibit function of Axin-GSK3β complex and thus lead to
Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling does not activate the wnt cascade.

Axin1 is a key regulator of canonical Wnt signaling pathway. Roles of Axin1 in skeletal development and in disease occurrence have not been fully defined. Here, we report that Axin1 is essential for lower limb development. Specific deletion of Axin1
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. β-catenin is widely thought to be a major oncogene in HCC based on the frequency of mutations associated with aberrant Wnt signaling in HCC patients. Challenging this model
