Application

3-(3-Methyl-3H-diazirin-3-yl)-N-(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)propanamide is a photoinducible silane diazirine useful for the immobilization of protein targets onto surfaces. Upon UV light (~360 nm) irradiation, a covalent bond is formed with nearby protein residues, binding it to the surface. Ye, et a,l demonstrated its use in immobilizing antibodies for development of a silica-based fiber optic biosensor (FOB).
