Metalaxyl Metabolite CGA 108906 is a benzoic acid derivative of the fungicide metalaxyl, formed upon its oxidation.
The Reg. (EU) 2017/1164 sets a maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.7 mg/kg and 0.01 mg/kg in fresh/frozen fruits and tree nuts respectively for metalaxyl that includes its other mixtures of constituent isomers including metalaxyl-M (sum of isomers). Metalaxyl has to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin.

Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
The metalaxyl Metabolite CGA 108906 CRM may also find the following uses:

  • Analysis of insecticide and fungicide residues in soil samples by pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) accompanied by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) determination
  • Development of a multi-residue method for the determination of 150 pesticide metabolites in ground and surface water by direct injection-liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (DI-LC-ESI-MS/MS)
