The Technical Service department has collected historical data from various sources on the sera supplied to us from licensed donor centers in the United States. The sera, pooled from multiple normal subjects, is collected from clotted whole blood without additives and is "off the clot" with no azide added. The human serum undergoes testing for HIV and HBSAG by FDA-licensed labs. The donor pools can consist of up to 200 donors and are sterile filtered through a 0.22 micron filter. The product is not manufactured under GMP and is intended for laboratory or research use only. It is produced under ISO 9001 and undergoes sterility testing according to USP guidelines. Could you provide more details about the processing method used to prepare frozen human serum? Specifically, how are the sera collected, pooled, and processed from whole blood? Additionally, I'm interested in learning about any quality control (QC) testing conducted beyond testing for infectious agents.
