Sebastián Arana

Sebastián Arana is the Head of Process Solutions for the Life Science business of Merck. In this role, he oversees one of the broadest product portfolios in the industry – one that provides a differentiated offering that addresses the full pharmaceutical value chain from upstream to drug product.

Arana brings more than 20 years of global experience in marketing, sales, country, and business unit responsibilities having held executive positions in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, leading teams and managing portfolios across a broad range of industries, including healthcare, consumer, and industrial products.

Most recently, Arana served as the President of the U.S. & Canada Health Care Business Group at 3M, its largest geographical region, achieving year on year of organic sales growth and seamlessly integrating major acquisitions.

He holds a bachelor's degree in business from Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile, and earned an MBA from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.

Arana will be based in the U.S., at the company’s Bedford and Burlington, Massachusetts facilities.
