Application

  • Arresting Dental Caries with Silver Diamine Fluoride and Sodium Fluoride: A clinical trial investigates the efficacy of sequential applications of silver diamine fluoride gel followed by sodium fluoride varnish in arresting severe early childhood caries. The study demonstrates sodium fluoride′s critical role in dental health applications, particularly in enhancing the caries-arresting properties of treatments (Padilla Caceres TC et al., 2024).

  • Mapping Vascular Microcalcification Using 18F-NaF PET/CT: This research uses sodium fluoride PET/CT scans to develop a spatial atlas for identifying and quantifying vascular microcalcifications in patients with hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis. The findings highlight sodium fluoride′s application in advanced diagnostic imaging, providing a crucial tool for medical research and patient care (Sheppard AJ et al., 2024).
