Gene Information

General description

Anti-Retinoic Acid Receptor α Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Retinoic Acid Receptor α protein.
Retinoic acid receptor α (RARα) is a nuclear receptor for retinoic acid and is expressed in the retina. It belongs to the nuclear steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 17q21.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Retinoic Acid Receptor alpha.

Immunogen Range: 46-95

Biochem/physiol Actions

Retinoic acid receptor α (RARα) is a ligand-dependent transcriptional modulator of genes that has a role in differentiation, cellular development and apoptosis. It has a role in germ-cell development in testis. The protein may be associated with acute promyelocytic leukemia.
