Application

Poly-DL-ornithine hydrobromide has been used to coat coverslips to seed dorsal root ganglion neurons from rats. It has also been used to coat dishes for mouse cortical neuron culture.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Poly-DL-ornithine is a basic polypeptide that provides an ideal condition for the growth of neurons in culture. It inhibits the growth of bacteria.
