General description

The HA tag is a 9-amino acid tag, with the sequence YPYDVPDYA (N-Tyr-Pro-Tyr-Asp-Val-Pro-Asp-Tyr-Ala-C), derived from the hemagglutinin (HA) protein at amino acid residues 98-106 in the HA sequence. The HA tag contains a high proportion of charged amino acid residues, which makes the HA tag likely to form a strong antibody recognition site. Monoclonal Anti-HA Agarose Conjugate recognizes native as well as denatured/reduced forms of HA-tagged proteins. This product is reactive with N-or C-terminal HA-tagged fusion proteins that are expressed in E. coli or in mammalian cells.

Specificity

The antibody recognizes native as well as denatured-reduced forms of HA-tagged proteins and is reactive with N- or C-terminal HA-tagged fusion proteins expressed in E. coli or in mammalian cells.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to a fragment of human influenza virus hemagglutinin (HA) known as HA-tag, conjugated to KLH

Application

Suitable for use in immunoprecipitation assays and for immunoaffinity purification of HA-tagged fusion proteins.

Physical form

Suspension in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, containing 15 mM sodium azide

Preparation Note

Prepared using cyanogen bromide-activated agarose. Specific antibody concentration is 2.0 - 2.4 mg/mL settled resin.
