Application

Cholesteryl 3β-N-(di­methyl­amino­ethyl)­carbamate hydrochloride has been used as a bilayer-membrane stabiliser and for nucleic acid transfer.

This cationic cholesterol derivative forms liposomes with L-α-phosphatidylethanolamine, dioleoyl, that efficiently transfect mammalian cell lines.
