Application

Chloro-APB hydrobromide has been used to pharmacologically stimulate D1 dopamine receptors and study its influence on locomotor response in fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO) deficient dopamine D1 receptor-expressing medium spiny neurons (D1 MSNs) of mice.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Chloro-APB hydrobromide, also known as SKF 82958, is a D1 dopamine receptor agonist. D1 receptor agonists prevent and reverse fentanyl-induced respiratory depression, without impairing opioid analgesia, in cats.

Prenatal exposure to cocaine can impede normal brain development, triggering a range of neuroanatomical and behavioral anomalies that are evident throughout life. Mouse models have been especially helpful in delineating neuro-teratogenic consequences after prenatal exposure to cocaine. The present study

L-type Ca(2+) channel (LTCC)-activated signaling cascades contribute significantly to psychostimulant-induced locomotor sensitization; however, the precise contribution of the two brain-specific subunits Ca(v)1.2 and Ca(v)1.3 remains mostly unknown. In this study, by using amphetamine and cocaine locomotor sensitization in mutant mice
