While Zinc is a necessary element in the expansion of cells in culture, the addition of serum at 5 – 10% to the medium typically provides a sufficient supply. The addition of zinc sulfate to cultures is more commonly utilized in serum-free environments and/or due to requirements of specific cell types. This product is tested for suitability in Molecular Biology applications. The solution is not sterile or tested for cell culture use. Suitability would have to be determined by the end user.
