Application

Alkane standard solution C_8-C₂₀ has been used as standard in the measurement of retention indices for the identification of alkanes co-existing in essential oils using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry.

Alkane standard solution C₈-C₂₀ may also be used as an analytical standard for measurement of linear retention indices (LRI) in the identification of volatile components in honey samples using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
