General description
This microbial genomic DNA standard is a reference material (RM) that consists of four vials. The genomic DNA is extracted from cell cultures. Each vial contains approximately 2 µg of microbial genomic DNA in TE buffer (10 mM TRIS, 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0).
NIST8375_SDS
- MG-001 Salmonella Typhimurium LT2
- MG-002 Staphylococcus aureus
- MG-003 Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- MG-004 Clostridium sporogenes
NIST8375_SDS
Application
This reference material (RM) is suitable for validation, optimization, process evaluation, and performance assessment of microbial whole genome sequencing.
Features and Benefits
- Enables the assessment of the performance of high-throughput microbial DNA sequencing methods.
- It does not assess pre-analytical steps such as DNA extraction as the RM is extracted DNA.
- Challenges sequencing library preparation, sequencing machines, base calling algorithms, and subsequent bioinformatics analyses.
- This genomic DNA is extracted from cell cultures.
Other Notes
- Refer to the SDS for additional information on biomaterials, disposal, and transport.
- Details on expiration, maintenance, usage, storage, preparation, stability, homogeneity, and purity are available in the certificate.
